City Baths - Location Shoot
I was really happy to have two messages from people around the country through FORE Business, through Michael Stewart and Brian Hardy, both of which I’ve known for quite a while; Michael in person for many, many, many, many, years - it’s coming up 20 years near enough, wow, that’s mad - and Brian Hardy who I know through the online FORE Business community.
Both referred me into a national company down south that has a project happening up in Newcastle which is the refurbishment of their City Baths, so all of you in Newcastle that have been to the City Hall to see gigs and comedy and all manner of things the City Hall has, the building next door, at the other end of it, that has just been a thing on the end for me. I’ve never really realised, or never really appreciated that it is a swimming pool and gym and has been there for many, many, many years.
And so to be asked to shoot promotional and stock material for the site has just been fantastic. The new Turkish Baths that they’ve just relaunched is a fantastic resource for the city and certainly something, if you get the chance, to go and have a nosey at. So me and Karl were out there on site doing photos of all the departments with all manner of staff members and different classes and just really capturing the whole feel of the place. I can’t wait to see where these pictures end up! It was a really fun one to be part of.
It was two really strenuous days of full tilt shooting but the staff were fantastic and really accommodating for us, because as we know, when Head Office asks for photos, it often comes down to local staff to get things arranged and things and the guys were absolutely brilliant.
I can’t wait to see the pictures and once I get a few more of them live, we’ll get a few more shared with you. Certainly if they end up on, next time I’m calling past, I’ll get some pictures of my pictures on location, which is always good.
