BLESMA - Military Veterans Charity

It was an amazing experience to take part in a recent shoot with BLESMA. 

They are a charity that support military veterans who have lost limbs in action and supports them in activities and bringing them together to help both their mental health and to give them some fun activities to take them out with some of the challenges that they’re facing. 

This one was a was an art project in Newcastle and it brought together people from all over the country and just their random stories – they were a really, really funny bunch – made it really fun and a giggle and the artwork they produced was absolutely fantastic. Hearing the reasons behind how they were doing some of the artwork was just absolutely brilliant. Each person’s piece of artwork was both challenging and inspirational at the same time and it was just absolutely brilliant to be a part of. 

You know I’m an absolute advocate of getting everybody to do something creative and seeing this artwork that they created to help them tell bits of their stories and bits of the things that they’ve got going on, it was just absolutely brilliant. Long may it continue and fingers crossed I can be part of another project that they’re doing soon and just hear a little bit more of those laughs and giggles about some of the fun that they’ve been having.
